Bedtime should be a moment to exhale. But for many children — and the parents trying to settle them — it's anything but. Racing thoughts, big feelings that didn't get processed, the invisible weight of a busy school day: all of it tends to surface the moment the lights go down.
The Cozi Nest was created to help with exactly that.
Here you'll find a growing collection of free guided meditations, mindful bedtime stories, and gentle affirmations — all crafted specifically for children, and all designed to do one thing: help your child feel calm, safe, and ready for sleep.
The stories aren't just entertaining. Each one is woven with mindfulness principles — helping children process emotions like anger, sadness, and worry in a way that feels natural rather than instructional. A child listening to Breathing Through the Storm isn't being taught a technique; they're being gently guided through one. That's intentional.
Emma Reynolds
My name is Emma Reynolds. I'm an accredited MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) instructor, trained through the same evidence-based programme used in hospitals, schools, and research institutions worldwide. I'm also trained by the Mindfulness in Schools Project, and I'm a member of the Association of Professional Mindfulness Teachers.
Over the years I've worked with more than 30,000 people — helping adults reduce stress, anxiety, and burnout through my MBSR courses and coaching at mbsr-mindfulness.com. I also created Macmillan Education's first mindfulness course for primary school children, reaching teachers and classrooms across the world. But I kept coming back to the same question: What about the children at home?
The Cozi Nest is my answer to that. Everything here draws on the same science that underpins adult mindfulness practice — the research on attention training, emotional regulation, cortisol reduction, and the neuroscience of the developing brain — translated into something a child can actually receive at the end of a long day. A story. A breath. A quiet voice telling them they are held.
It's free. It's here whenever you need it. And I hope it becomes a gentle part of your family's evenings.
